The Dragon Chamber Review – First speakeasy bar in Singapore – YSK
The wagyu truffle beef hor fun is one of their signature items. This dish features smooth hor fun in a bowl of fragrant and savoury truffle gravy, topped with A4 Kagoshima Wagyu, crispy deep fried hor fun strips and poached eggs. The dish is first served without the gravy by the waiter, and he will pour in the truffle gravy. Following that, the poached egg is being broken and mixed in with the gravy and for fun. The end result is a bowl of nice truffle-smelling goodness. When you take a mouth of the goodness, the truffle smells kick in first, followed by the savoury sauce and the smooth hor fun. The deep fried hor fun strips added a crispy and interesting texture to the smooth and wet hor fun, which I think is a really great addition. The wagyu beef is really tender and flavourful as well.
Overall, this dish really excels in all aspects, regardless of flavour profile, texture or even smell. We highly recommend this dish!
For this dish, jumbo tiger prawns were fried and baked in sea salt and butter. This dish is the most disappointing of the 3 items we got. The prawn is undoubtedly fresh and tender. However, the butter and sea salt combination on the prawn makes it taste a bit too overwhelming. Squeezing a bit of lemon on the prawn did help in balancing out the taste a bit.
In conclusion, this dish is quite mediocre in general. Not worth the price in our opinion.
Overall, the service is decent. They were rather attentive to our needs and responded to our needs promptly.
The food was served pretty quickly as well!
