[Closed] Is the hyped Double Durian worth it? – YSK

Hi guys, it’s time for your weekly dose of YSKeats!

Wonder if you guys heard about it, recently, there is this very popular cafe known as Double Durian! I have seen a few Facebook posts and Youtubers review on this and being a durian fan like many of you guys, I decided to reserve a table yesterday.

Yin Yang Baked Durians (4 pcs)

This is the yin yang baked durian! Half of the durian is hot and half of it is cold so it kinda symbolize yin yang. To be honest, I didn’t really like this durian because I find it a bit weird? HAHAHA I old fashioned like that>< However, Ice liked the heated-up durian and even commented that she would prefer if the whole durian is hot and creamy, instead of hot, then cold, hot, then cold.

Durian Crepe

This is pretty legit. Normally, what you would expect from a durian dessert is that after awhile, it will get cloying but u don’t get that from this one. The durian flavour is light but yet satisfying! The only downside to this is that I find that each individual layer is a bit too thick! I used Lady M crepe as a reference FYI because I feel that it is good and thin enough (my personal preference). Try this if you guys are going there ya! I recommend (:

Mozzarella Chicken Cutlet

Well, Ice and I went there for dinner so we thought why not try their mains? (Yes, this restaurant serves mains even though it’s called double durian). So, we ordered this to share. Disappointing…  That’s all I can say. The mozzarella is undetectable (non-existent.. maybe cause it’s watered down) but the chicken is pretty good. However, $16 for a decent piece of chicken? Nah, I’ll pass.

I didn’t get to try the charcoal baked durian, another signature of theirs as my pockets were too shallow >
